City of Lancaster issues call for artists

The City of Lancaster has issued a request for qualifications for illustrators and graphic designers to develop a cartoon character, Rosie the Fish, for the city's River Connections project. River Connections is intended to cultivate a greater sense of stewardship and community around the Conestoga River and advocate for its care and repair.

The City of Lancaster is seeking a qualified artist to develop a Rosie the Fish cartoon character and coloring sheets for the web and print. Rosie the Fish will be an animated ambassador to educate the public, specifically school-age residents, about the river and the work done through the River Connections project.

This opportunity is open to all professional artists and teams of people age 18 and older. The submission deadline is Monday, June 24. The City of Lancaster anticipates an artist will be selected by Friday, July 19. The selected artist will have a budget of $3,000 to complete the work.
