Garden Spot Class Of 2021 Wins Scholarships, Awards

Garden Spot High School recently announced scholarships and awards earned by members of its graduating class.

Joseph Sharp, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Sharp of New Holland, received the Academic Hall of Fame Awards - Mathematics Department; Academic Hall of Fame Awards - Physical Ed Department; Andrew "Bull" Nolt Memorial Scholarship; E. Jerry Brooks Academic Excellence Award; Garden Spot Lions Club Scholarship; New Holland American Legion Scholarship; President's Award for Excellence; United States Marine Corps - Distinguished Athlete; and Liberty University Valedictorian/Salutatorian Scholarship.

Shingyin Haven Kha, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ngia Kha of Denver, received the Alycia Gorlaski Andros Scholarship, Health Care Careers Academy Scholarship, LancasterHistory.org Award, Outstanding Senior English Student, President's Award for Excellence, Amy Hackman Rupp Memorial Scholarship, Kutztown University of Pennsylvania Achievement Scholarship, and Kutztown University of Pennsylvania Founders Scholar Scholarship.

Giovanna Poehler, daughter of Kurt Poehler and Bethann Poehler of East Earl, received the Ashlee Miller Memorial, Garden Spot Lions Club Scholarship, Health Care Careers Academy Scholarship, New Holland American Legion Scholarship, Richmond Pennock Scholarship, Eastern University Presidential Scholarship, and Eastern University Grant.

Dustin Swanson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Swanson, earned the Chad Burkhart Wrestling Scholarship, Fackler-Hower Sportsmanship Award, Garden Spot Band Boosters Scholarship, Mat Club Scholarship, New Holland PTO Positive Character Award, New Holland American Legion Scholarship, and United States Marine Corps Semper Fidelis Award.

Angellia Brenneman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brenneman of Bowmansville, received the ELCEA Scholarship, Garden Spot Band Boosters Scholarship, Kitchen Kettle Village Scholarship, New Holland American Legion Scholarship, President's Award for Excellence, and University of Delaware Outstanding Music Scholar Scholarship.

Abigail O'Neill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom O'Neill of East Earl, earned the Academic Hall of Fame - Ag Department, E. Jerry Brooks Academic Excellence Award, Outstanding Business Education Student Award, Robert D. Herr Agricultural Scholarship, United States Marine Corps - Distinguished Athlete, and Ressler Mills Foundation Award.

Lauren Esh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Esh of New Holland, earned the Andrew "Bull" Nolt Memorial Scholarship, Dan Caffrey Jr. Memorial Scholarship, E. Jerry Brooks Academic Excellence Award, President's Award for Excellence, and Richmond Pennock Scholarship.

Jemma Lindquist, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Lindquist of East Earl, was awarded the Academic Hall of Fame Awards - Art Department, Outstanding Achievement in Art Award, President's Award for Excellence, United States Marine Corps - Scholastic Excellence, and Alfred University Art Portfolio Scholarship.

Jack McCarty, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tim McCarty of New Holland, received the Foust Public Service Scholarship, President's Award for Excellence, Ressler Mills Foundation Award, Sons of the American Legion Scholarship, and Syracuse University 1870 Scholarship.

Luke Shirk, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Shirk of East Earl, received an American Legion Riders Scholarship (Kipp Halpin Memorial), Farm and Home Center Scholarship, New Holland American Legion Scholarship, and Ressler Mills Foundation Award.

Katherine Swatski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Swatski of Denver, was awarded the New Holland Ambulance Association - Ashlee Miller Memorial Scholarship, President's Award for Excellence, Robert D. Herr Agricultural Scholarship, and Ressler Mills Foundation Award.

Eric Becker, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Becker of Denver, received the E. Jerry Brooks Academic Excellence Award, Health Care Careers Academy Scholarship, and President's Award for Excellence.

Jaclyn Fulford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Fulford of East Earl, earned the Arthur A. Krupp Memorial Scholarship, Garden Spot Band Boosters Scholarship, and Health Care Careers Academy Scholarship.

Karynne Henry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Henry of New Holland, earned the E. Jerry Brooks Academic Excellence Award, President's Award for Excellence, and United States Marine Corps Semper Fidelis Award.

Emma Keeport, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Keeport of Narvon, received the Academic Hall of Fame Awards - World Language Department, Academic Hall of Fame - Social Studies Department, and President's Award for Excellence.

Alexandria King, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert King of New Holland, earned the E. Jerry Brooks Academic Excellence Award, Fackler-Hower Sportsmanship Award, and President's Award for Excellence.

Hannah Wenrich, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jason Wenrich of Mohnton, received the American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship, Health Care Careers Academy Scholarship, and Sons of the American Legion Scholarship.

Logan Martin, daughter of Daniel Martin and Lisa Martin of New Holland, was awarded the E. Jerry Brooks Academic Excellence Award, Outstanding Athletes Award, and President's Award for Excellence.

Ryan Martin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ammon Martin of Denver, received the Academic Hall of Fame Awards - English Department, President's Award for Excellence, and United States Marine Corps - Scholastic Excellence.

Kayla Scritchfield, daughter of Greg Scritchfield and Cherise Scritchfield of New Holland, received the Academic Hall of Fame - Business Department, New Holland Business Association Scholarship, and Millersville University Academic Excellence Scholarship.

Ashley Parry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darin Parry of New Holland, earned an Andrew "Bull" Nolt Memorial Scholarship and Olivet Nazarene University Athletic Scholarship.

Avery Stauffer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Loren Stauffer of Narvon, earned the E. Jerry Brooks Academic Excellence Award and President's Award for Excellence. Brayden Swisher, daughter of Mr. Erik Swisher and Ms. Delana Swisher of Narvon, earned an Outstanding World Languages Award and Elizabethtown College Presidential Scholarship.

Griffin Witmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Witmer of Denver, received the Brecknock Elementary PTO Award and New Holland Business Association. Viktoriia Vozharenko, daughter of Ms. Liudmyla Vozharenko of Denver, earned a Penn State Berks Trustee Scholarship and Penn State Berks LiveOn Success Grant - Berks.

Thomas Andress, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Andress of Denver, earned a President's Award for Excellence. Zachary Becker, son of Mr. Josh Becker and Ms. Tara Becker of East Earl, earned the Full Sail University Creative Minds Scholarship. Nathan Boyer, son of Mr. Todd Boyer and Ms. Michele Boyer of East Earl, earned a New Holland American Legion Scholarship.

Bryonna Buck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Buck of New Holland, received the Ressler Mills Foundation Award. Jeremiah Buck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Buck of New Holland, earned a President's Award for Excellence. Dakota Cox, son of Mr. David Cox and Ms. Tonya Artus of Denver, earned the John Gehr Scholarship.

Blake Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Davis of East Earl, was given the President's Award for Excellence. Britney Esh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rick Esh of New Holland, received the E. Jerry Brooks Academic Excellence Award. Bret Graybill, son of Mr. Tony Graybill and Ms. Tracy Graybill, of New Holland, was given the President's Award for Excellence.

Mason Graybill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Seth Graybill of New Holland, earned the Cairn University Merit Scholarship. Aaron Hershey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Hershey of New Holland, received the President's Award for Excellence. Hosanna Hoover, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Hoover of New Holland, earned a Ressler Mills Foundation Award.

Tavita Kauffman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Kauffman of East Earl, earned a Health Care Careers Academy Scholarship. Kara Martin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Martin of East Earl, received a Ressler Mills Foundation Award. Arwyn Robbins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jason Robbins of East Earl, received the Spartan Way Scholarship. Madelynn Sasso, daughter of Mr. Michael Sasso and Ms. Stacy Trego-Clayton of Morgantown, received a Ressler Mills Foundation Award. Kendra Thompson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Thompson of Narvon, received a President's Award for Excellence.

Colby Weaver, son of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Weaver of New Holland, earned the E. Jerry Brooks Academic Excellence Award. Hailey Wenrich, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jason Wenrich of Mohnton, received a Ressler Mills Foundation Award. Austin Whenry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chadwick Whenry of New Holland, earned the Harrisburg University of Science and Technology Merit Award.
