Classes to explore fungi

In collaboration with the Eastern Penn Mushroomers, the Horn Farm Center will host a three-part class series titled "Fungal Foundations." The sessions will be "Introduction to Mycology" on Saturday, June 8, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.; "Medicinal and Culinary Uses" on Saturday, June 15, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.; and "Mushroom Cultivation" on Saturday, June 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. All sessions will be held at the Horn Farm Center, 4945 Horn Road, York.

This series will spotlight the diversity, versatility, and ecological significance of nature's great decomposers. In addition to exploring fungi from scientific, ecological, and cultural perspectives, attendees will participate in mushroom forays at the Horn Farm Center led by experienced local foragers.

There is a fee for each session, and participants may register for one or more sessions. Preregistration is required at https://hornfarmcenter.org/fungi-series/.
