Classic Car Show To Benefit First Responders

The First Responders Friends, a local nonprofit organization, hosts car shows to raise money for its local first responders.

On Saturday, May 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., First Responders Friends will host the second annual Pequea Township Classic Car Show in conjunction with the West Willow Fire Company. The car show will take place at the West Willow Fire Company, 192 West Willow Road, Willow Street. On the day of the event, West Willow Road will be closed from Millwood Road to Cobblestone Drive. All of the proceeds from this rain-or-shine event will benefit the West Willow Fire Company, Pequea Township Police Department, and Lancaster EMS (LEMSA).

The West Willow Fire Company will provide breakfast sandwiches, brisket sandwiches, chicken barbecue, hamburgers, hot dogs, whoopie pies, and beverages for purchase. Music will be provided by DJ Rob Mullins.

"We want to thank the community for supporting our event, the township for allowing us to have it, and the fire company for hosting it," said First Responders Friends member Joel Herzog.

At 2:15 p.m., 11 trophies will be awarded. These are best of show, people's choice, best of Pequea Township, best paint, First Responders' choice, best truck, modern muscle car, most original, best interior, best engine, and best motorcycle. The event will be sponsored by Melanie B. Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, Run Valley Exteriors, Mylin Services Group, Hegeman's Landscape and Tree Service, Customs Classics Auto Body Shop, Lancaster Starter & Alternator Service, Pine Brook Farm, Urban Werks, Ben Rice Excavating, Leah Landis with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, E.M. Herr Ace Hardware, PNTR Computer & Networking Services, 360 Hunting Blinds, GR Mitchell True Value Hardware Store, and Pyfer, Reese, Straub, Gray & Farhat.
