Club members spread holiday cheer

A holiday tradition with the goal of brightening the holiday season for area nursing home residents continued this year with the Lancaster County Cruisers car club. The initiative began with an idea that Earl Rebman Jr. had 24 years ago.

Since 2014, the members of the Lancaster County Cruisers have taken on the distribution of poinsettias to nursing homes in the Lancaster area. On Dec. 22, 2023, through a partnership with an area greenhouse and transportation for the poinsettias provided by E.M. Herr Ace Hardware Farm & Home Center, members of Lancaster County Cruisers delivered 330 poinsettias to 18 nursing homes in Lancaster County.

Lancaster County Cruisers holds a car show every year on the first Saturday in July at the Willow Street Fire Company field and donates proceeds to several nonprofit charities in the area.

Anyone with an interest in collectible vehicles, including those who do not own such a vehicle, is welcome to join the Lancaster County Cruisers. The group meets on the second Sunday of each month at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Willow Street United Church of Christ, 2723 Willow Street Pike North, Willow Street.
