College choral group to present concert

The Lancaster Church of the Brethren's Starlight Tea Concert Series will feature the Franklin & Marshall College Chamber Singers on Saturday, March 2, at 7 p.m. The church is located at 1601 Sunset Ave., Lancaster.

Directed by William Wright, the Chamber Singers is a vocal ensemble of about 20 singers chosen by audition. The program will feature Antonio Vivaldi's setting of the "Magnificat," additional works spanning five centuries, and several selections from masters of the African American spiritual tradition. Much of the program will be a cappella.

Wright has been choral director at Franklin & Marshall since 2001. He also serves as chorusmaster of the Lancaster Symphony Chorus, director of music and arts at Saint James Episcopal Church, and resident conductor of the Pennsylvania Philharmonic. As a conductor and pianist, he has performed in 27 countries.
