Columbia Crossing slates special events

Susquehanna National Heritage Area will host two special spring events. Both events will take place at Columbia Crossing River Trails Center, 41 Walnut St., Columbia, at 6:30 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

A lecture with local historian and author Michael Maloney will take place on Wednesday, April 19. Maloney will share the details of the real-life story he uncovered for his book "Across the River: Murder at Accomac." More than recounting the murder of Emily Myers and the subsequent trial of John Coyle Jr., Maloney's presentation will take attendees on a journey through the history of Accomac, Coyle's Ferry, and the town of Marietta. Seating is limited.

A poetry reading with Michael Garrigan will take place on Friday, April 28. The audience will hear from Garrigan's new collection, "River, Amen," and meet the Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper. Light refreshments will be served. Copies of the collection will be available for purchase.

There is a per-person cost per event. For tickets and information, visit https://susqnha.org/events. For more details, contact Sophia Vayansky at svayansky@susqnha.org or 717-449-5607.
