Comedian to perform at Appell Center

As part of the "Good Old-Fashioned Tour," Charlie Berens will perform at the historic Strand Theatre at the Appell Center for the Performing Arts, 50. N. George St., York, on Thursday, Oct. 24. The show will start at 7 p.m.

The comedian, TV host, author, and Emmy-winning journalist is the creator of Midwest-focused comedy videos like the series "The Manitowoc Minute" and the podcasts "Cripescast" and "Bellied Up." In 2023, he released his debut comedy special, "Midwest Goodbye," and launched his own beverage. Berens and Adam Greuel, lead singer of Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, created the music and comedy album "Unthawed," which hit No. 1 on the Billboard bluegrass chart, as well as "Dive Bar Dinner" in 2023, which also landed on the Billboard charts. Berens' book, "The Midwest Survival Guide," is in development for a series at ABC.
