The Hempfield Area Democratic Committee (HADC) invites students who live in the Hempfield School District to apply for a $500 scholarship. The award will be given to a senior who will graduate in 2023 and who plans to pursue a postsecondary education. Applicants can be students at any Lancaster high school, but they must reside in the Hempfield School District.

The scholarship will be awarded based on a student's application, a short essay, and a brief interview.

The scholarship is named for Paul and Jan Wright, residents of East Hempfield Township and longtime active members of the HADC.

Interested students can fill out the application at https://tinyurl.com/hadcscholarship2023. The application deadline is Friday, Feb. 24.
