Community Calendar

The Community Calendar is a weekly feature of the Community Courier.

Local clubs, civic organizations, nonprofit agencies, schools, etc., that would like to have events or meeting date information published, should contact the Community Courier in writing at least two weeks before the event. Support Group

Kacie's Cause, Parkesburg Chapter, will offer a support group for friends and family of addicted loved ones on Wednesday, Jan. 13 (and every Wednesday), at 7 p.m. in the chapel at The Parkesburg POINT youth center, 700 Main St., Parkesburg. Amish Dinner

Honey Brook Fire Company, 679 Firehouse Lane, Honey Brook, will present a traditional Amish wedding dinner on Saturday, Jan. 16, at 2:30 p.m. The meal will be takeout only.

The menu will include roast chicken with filling, mashed potatoes and gravy, dinner rolls, a fruit cup, coleslaw, cooked celery, a beverage and dessert. There will be separate prices for adults and children ages 6 to 12. For more information, visit http://www.facebook.com/HoneyBrookFire.

TOPS Meeting

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is a nonprofit weight loss support group with thousands of chapters in the U.S. and Canada. Locally, a TOPS Chapter will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 19 (and every Tuesday), from 5:45 to 7:15 p.m. at the Manor Presbyterian Church, 505 Street Road (Route 926), Cochranville

Library Programs

The Moores Memorial Library, 9 W. Slokom Ave., Christiana, offers virtual preschool story time every Friday at 9 a.m. Patrons may participate by visiting http://www.christianalibrary.org or searching for "Moores Memorial Library" on Facebook. Sessions are recorded, so story times can be viewed on Facebook at any time. For more information, call the library at 610-593-6683.

Library Program

Atglen Public Library (APL) will present "Winter Reading Adventure: Chill Out and Read!" featuring mini games, reading lists, ideas for simple crafts, community exploration, and activities to do at home. The top five scorers will be featured on the APL Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/AtglenPublicLibrary.

Cookbook Sale

Boy Scout Troop 20 in Atglen is having a cookbook fundraiser. Cookbooks, titled "All American Recipes from the Families of Troop 20," feature more than 140 recipes.

Cookbooks are available at the Brass Eagle Restaurant, 5725 Lincoln Highway East, Gap, and at Turkey Hill (Gap location only). People may also order cookbooks by emailing hajackson1515@gmail.com.
