Sept. 27 Chicken Barbecue Fundraiser

Presented by the Birdsboro Rotary Club

Meals can be picked up in the east parking lot of Boscov's, 4500 Perkiomen Ave., Reading. The meal will include a half-chicken, a baked potato, pepper cabbage and a roll. To buy tickets, call 610-582-6871 or email Birdsbororotary@aol.com. Meals can also be purchased on the day of the event until sold out.

Ryerss Farm for Aged Equines

1710 Ridge Road (Route 23), Pottstown, noon to 3 p.m. A short non-denominational service will take place at 1 p.m. in the main barn, followed by individual blessings for pets. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.
