Community invited to help pack meals

Grace Covenant Church, in partnership with Lifeline Christian Mission, will host a community-wide event on Friday and Saturday, April 28 and 29, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. to address global food insecurity. The church is inviting area residents to help pack 50,000 shelf-ready meals that will be shipped to areas in the world where children and families suffer from malnutrition.

Volunteers may sign up for one or more one-and-a-half-hour time slots to pack. There is no cost to participate.

In addition to seeking volunteers to pack meals, the church is also seeking tax-deductible financial contributions to help underwrite the cost of the ingredients. There is no minimum level of support that can be made. All contributions are tax-deductible and will be used only to cover the cost of ingredients. The meal-packing event combines an opportunity for team building and community service. The church encourages company volunteers to sign up together, form teams, wear company logos and participate in friendly competition with other teams to achieve the goal of packing 50,000 meals.

Grace Covenant Church is located in the Oaklands Corporate Center at 444 Creamery Way, Suite 100, Exton. For more information about the meal-packing event, contact organizer Tom Johnson at tjohnson@gracecovenantepc.org.
