Concert, Display Set At Paramount

Paramount Senior Living, 2760 Maytown Road, Maytown, has posted its upcoming events.

On Thursday, July 21, the Rohrerstown Community Band will offer the first in a series of three outdoor concerts hosted by Paramount Senior Living. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., the band will play a variety of music, including hits from the '60s to the present time. The community is invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the outdoor concert and dinner on the spacious lawn. A picnic dinner to benefit the Alzheimer's Association will be available for purchase starting at 6 p.m.; a menu of a la carte items will include hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, cookies, water, and soda. There is no admission cost for the concert, and all are welcome to attend.

Additionally, Jim Flowers will have several of his handcrafted house façades and a replica of a local covered bridge on display at Paramount Senior Living from Monday, July 25, to Friday, July 29. Over the past few years, Flowers, 83, of Marietta has constructed the façades of many homes and buildings in the Lancaster County area. His houses were featured on the front page of the May 18, 2022, edition of the Donegal Merchandiser, which attracted the attention of people at Paramount Senior Living. Paramount marketing manager Cindy Wivell invited Flowers to display a few of his pieces for Paramount residents, also allowing the community to see his work up close.

Flowers will conduct a presentation on how he creates these replicas on Tuesday, July 26, at 2 p.m. at Paramount Senior Living. The community is invited to attend, but individuals are asked to preregister by July 25 by calling 717-426-0033.
