Concert of organ and piano duets planned

Tyler Canonico and Daniel L. Dorty will perform organ and piano duets at Derry Presbyterian Church, 248 E. Derry Road, Hershey, at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24. They will present the works of classical composers, hymn arrangements and movie music, including "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Harry Potter," on the church's 1950 Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ and 2019 Steinway & Sons concert grand piano.

Canonico is a nationally acclaimed organist and the minister of music and organist at Market Square Presbyterian Church in Harrisburg. He is also an adjunct instructor of music at Lebanon Valley College, where he conducts the more than 70-member college choir. He is the organist for the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra and the founder and conductor of the Harrisburg Camerata.

Dorty is Derry Presbyterian Church's director of music and organist and the collaborative pianist and organist for the Susquehanna Chorale. He has accompanied other professional ensembles in central Pennsylvania and has served as the resident choral rehearsal pianist for the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra.

The concert is part of the Derry Presbyterian Church's Arts Alive! cultural series. A freewill offering will be received. Handicapped-accessible parking and an elevator are available.
