Concert to benefit projects in Nepal

The Beyond Ourselves Chamber Ensemble will present its annual benefit concert promoting the global work of Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) on Sunday, Feb. 26, at 2 p.m. at The Trust Performing Arts Center, 37 N. Market St., Lancaster. This year's theme is "Let's Go to School."

The concert will feature Beyond Ourselves Chamber Ensemble joined by the Aspire Chamber Choir as the guest artist. The selections will range from Baroque to contemporary, including newly commissioned works, and will aim to uplift and inspire.

Beyond Ourselves is a joint project pairing music and social outreach. Each year, the benefit concerts highlights a specific region or need. All ticket proceeds and donations at the 2023 concert will benefit MCC's Nepal Project.

Additionally, concert attendees may bring supplies for school kits, which MCC ships around the world. Needed items include spiral or perforated-page notebooks; unsharpened pencils; flat rulers at least 12 inches long; packs of 12 colored pencils; large erasers; new black or blue ballpoint pens; and small, all-metal pencil sharpeners with one or two holes. There will also be opportunities to further give financially at the concert.
