Concert to feature music of New Orleans

The Arts at Millersville University will present Jazz at Lincoln Center'sĀ "New Orleans Songbook" on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 7:30 p.m. at the Ware Center, 42 N. Prince St., Lancaster.

The program will celebrate the composers and songs of the Crescent City, the historic epicenter of jazz, where performers have included Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong, Ellis Marsalis, and James Black. Pianist Luther S. Allison and vocalists Quiana Lynell and Milton Suggs will perform at the Ware Center.

For more than three decades, Jazz at Lincoln Center has been an advocate for jazz, culture, and arts education globally. Under the direction of Wynton Marsalis, Jazz at Lincoln Center has brought the art form of jazz from the heart of New York City to more than 446 cities in more than 40 countries.
