Corvette Club Car Show Will Return

After putting a pause on events last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Lancaster County Corvette Club has announced the return of its annual car show. With the Whitmoyer Auto Group, the club with host its 31st annual American Legends People's Choice Fun Show on Sunday, Oct. 3. This rain-or-shine event will take place at the Junction Center, 1875 Junction Road, Manheim. Proceeds from the event will be used to support Clare House Lancaster and the LCCC Christmas Angels program supporting local families in need.

Through an employment-focused program, Clare House provides mothers and children facing homelessness with housing, safety, and supportive services with the goal of financial stability. The vision of Clare House is a community where all women and their children can build a strong and stable foundation.

This will be the first year that club members Mary Anne and Scott Lewandowski chair the car show. "I'm most looking forward to seeing it all come together," stated Mary Anne. "Hopefully we will get a good turnout and raise a lot of money for the Clare House because there is a great group of people over there."

Registration will open at 9 a.m., and the show will begin at 11 a.m., with an awards ceremony at about 3 p.m. Owners of General Motors vehicles - specifically Chevrolet, Saturn, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick, Cadillac, GMC, Hummer, and Holden - are welcome to participate. Registered vehicles can be cars, trucks, vans, SUVs, antiques, classics, hot rods, and street rods.

"It's fun to see all the cars, and it supports a terrific cause," said Mary Anne.

Whoever would like to enter a vehicle in the show may register at a discounted price by Saturday, Sept. 25, or pay full price at the event. The owners of the first 200 registered vehicles will receive a goodie bag and an event T-shirt. All registrants will be entered in a drawing for door prizes, and trophies will be awarded for the top three places in 16 classes.

There will be an opportunity to win a cash prizes, and attendees can participate in a silent auction. Only cash or checks will be accepted as payment for auction items. There will also be a DJ, and two food trucks - Shoeneck Lions Club and Lickity Split Ice Cream - will provide food for purchase.
