CWS sets Friendship To-Go Feast

Church World Service (CWS) Harrisburg will hold its second annual Friendsgiving To-Go Feast fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Meal purchasers will celebrate the cultures of Afghanistan, Central African Republic, Pakistan, Syria and Ukraine through a to-go meal while learning about the recipe creators' countries of origin. The recipes were created by five women refugees who live in the Harrisburg region and are enrolled in CWS Marketplace. CWS Marketplace grows the economic empowerment of these women who serve as head-of-household.

CWS Harrisburg's mission is to help refugees resettle, form long-lasting relationships in the community and maintain their own basic needs in a sustainable lifestyle.

Meals can be ordered at http://www.cwsharrisburg.org/friendsgiving for pickup on Nov. 18. Purchasers may select the pickup location in either Carlisle or Harrisburg at checkout, order a set of handmade CWS Marketplace artisan napkins and donate meals to refugees. Group meal discounts are available and cultural education has been curated for sponsors or group meal purchases.
