Dementia Education Series Scheduled

ForgeWorks will host two four-part series on dementia education, titled "Reframing Dementia," aimed at reducing the stigma of dementia and equipping care partners with tools for purposeful engagement with individuals living with brain changes. Topics will include having hope in the face of a dementia diagnosis, developing trust through communication, tips to create calm behavior, finding joy in daily-living activities, sleep patterns and purposeful living, and end-of-life care.

The series will be led by ForgeWorks dementia educator and consultant Janie Martin and will be held at the ELANCO Library, 11 Chestnut Drive, New Holland, in the upstairs classroom.

A Lunch & Learn series will take place on Tuesday, July 22, and Thursdays, July 24 and 31 and Aug. 7, from noon to 2:15 p.m. Attendees should bring a lunch, and dessert will be provided.

A Coffee Talk series will take place on July 24 and 31; Monday, Aug. 4; and Wednesday, Aug. 6, from 5:45 to 8 p.m. Attendees may enjoy dessert and coffee or tea.

There is a fee for both series. To register or for more information, visit http://www.theforgeworks.org/forgeworks-events or contact Janie Martin at 717-355-6270.
