The Hempfield Area Democratic Committee (HADC) is accepting applications for the 2021 Paul and Jan Wright Senior Scholarship.

The scholarship was established in 2013. It is named for Paul and Jan Wright, who were longtime, active members of the HADC. The scholarship honors a graduating senior in the Hempfield School District who best exemplifies Democratic ideals.

The winner of this award must write an essay on Democratic principles and take part in a brief virtual interview with the HADC Youth Engagement Committee. Applicants can be students at any Lancaster high school, but must be residents of the Hempfield School District. Winners of the scholarship receive $500 to use toward their college expenses.
