Deppen, Doerschuk Recognized

Aiden Deppen and Addison Doerschuk have been selected as the Seniors of the Month for October at Manheim Central High School. The Manheim Women's Club sponsors the Girls of the Month, and the Rotary Club of Manheim sponsors the Boys of the Month. The honorees are chosen by the professional staff of the high school based on academic achievement, character, and involvement within the school and community.

Aiden, 18, is the son of Benjamin and Kami Deppen of Manheim. He is a member of the National Honor Society, English Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, and National Art Honor Society. He plays in the concert band, orchestra, marching band, pit orchestra, and Momentum, the percussion ensemble, and he was selected for District Band as a percussionist last school year. He noted that he enjoys playing in the marching band during community events such as football games and parades, as well as playing in the pit orchestra and helping with sets for community theater events. Outside school, his interests include playing the marimba, creative writing, and art. Aiden plans to attend college and is interested in psychology, specifically in music or play therapy. He would also like to participate in marching band in college.

Addison, 17, is the daughter of Casey and Amy Doerschuk of Manheim. She plays basketball and volleyball and participates in the Video Yearbook Club, National Art Honor Society, and National Honor Society. She has helped operate the scoreboard at football games and has recorded concerts, plays, and musicals for the high school, as well. She plans to attend college.
