DHS Names Students of the Month

The Donegal High School (DHS) Counseling Office & Career Resource Center has announced that the Mount Joy Rotary Students of the Month for January are Joselyn Gerig and Jordan Helsel. Students of the Month are honored during the Rotary Club's monthly luncheon meeting.

Joselyn is the daughter of Mitchell and Sarah Gerig. She is a member of the Math Honor Society, National Honor Society and National Art Honor Society. In addition, she participates in Peer Tutoring, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Modern Music Matters (Tri-M), Link Crew, Art Club and Key Club. Joselyn is also a member of the high school's basketball and tennis teams.

Outside of school, Joselyn enjoys serving in her church's youth group and children's nursery.

Following graduation, Joselyn plans to attend college and major in nursing. She aspires to become a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurse.

Jordan, the son of Matthew and Giccel Helsel of Marietta, is a member of the National Honor Society, National Society of High School Scholars, Math Honor Society and the Lenfest Scholars Foundation. He also served as president of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) during his junior year. Jordan is actively involved in Bible Study, Prayer Group, Peer Tutoring, Spanish Club, Chess Club and Key Club. He is also a member of the DHS Orchestra and tennis team.

His plans after graduation are to attend college and major in business administration or entrepreneurship. Jordan desires to one day build a business of his own.
