DMVA Posts Way To Honor Woman Veterans

March is Women's History Month, and the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) invites individuals to consider purchasing an Honoring Our Women Veterans license plate to recognize the contributions that woman veterans have made to the nation's history through their military service. A portion of the cost of each plate goes to the Pennsylvania Veterans' Trust Fund (VTF).

The Honoring Our Women Veterans license plate is available for passenger cars or trucks with a registered gross weight of not more than 14,000 pounds. The plate is available for purchase by anyone who wants to show appreciation for the service of woman veterans, including more than 66,000 woman veterans who reside in Pennsylvania.

The VTF issues grants to statewide charitable organizations that aid veterans service organizations and county directors of veterans affairs. The grants are used to assist veterans in need of shelter and necessities of living, among other services.

In addition to the sales of these license plates, there are several other programs designed to help fund the VTF in support of Pennsylvania's nearly 800,000 veterans. To learn more, visit http://www.vtf.pa.gov or http://www.facebook.com/padmva.
