The Donegal High School cheerleading team will host an open community showcase on Monday, Jan. 19, at the high school, 1025 Koser Road, Mount Joy. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the showcase will begin at 6:30 p.m. Entry will be by donation to the booster club.

The cheerleading team is a PIAA state qualifier for its second year in a row, and Donegal varsity cheerleading will head to the UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship at the ESPN Wide World of Sports arena in Orlando, Fla., from Wednesday, Jan. 28, to Tuesday, Feb. 3.

The team of 14 athletes also excels in the classroom with an overall winter GPA of 4.02 and recently volunteered with Elizabethtown Community Housing and Outreach Services.

The team is coached by head varsity coach Kellye Herbert and assistant coach Jaema Bonte.
