"Dreams for Life" fundraiser posted

The 13th annual Dreams for Life fundraiser will take place on Friday and Saturday, May 31 and June 1, at Paradise Park, 6 London Vale Road, Paradise.

On May 31, the USA Patriots amputee softball team will compete against the Dreams for Life All-Star team at 7 p.m. and against local first responders at 8:30 p.m. A homerun derby will take place between games, and 10 spots are available for a fee on a first-come, first-served basis. A pregame show at 6:30 p.m. will include a rifle salute and the national anthem. People are advised to bring chairs, as bleacher seating is limited. Food, including brisket sandwiches and fries, and drinks will be available, and there will be a giveaway drawing. Proceeds of Friday's event will support Four Diamonds and the USA Patriots. Admission is free.

A 5K run will begin at 9 a.m. on June 1 and will be timed by Pretzel City Sports. Awards will be presented in various age groups. Registration will open at 7:30 a.m. There is a fee to participate. A Spikeball tournament will take place on June 1, with men's and women's brackets available. There is a fee per team. To register by Thursday, May 30, contact Kevin at 717-481-0531.

Other activities will include crafts for children starting at 10 a.m. and a candy drop at 1 p.m. Giveaway drawings will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Live music, starting at 4 p.m., will be provided by Dan and Amanda Esh, Started With a "J," and Diener and Family. Food options will include breakfast sandwiches, cheesesteaks, chicken sandwiches, shrimp, fries, soft pretzels, salad, smoothies, and ice cream.

The proceeds of this fundraiser will go to Four Diamonds at Hershey Medical Center. Four Diamonds helps families with children who have cancer. The fund helps to pay for what insurance does not cover, including prescriptions, transportation, and meal passes to use at the cafeteria for parents with a child in the hospital.
