Drumore Friends Meetinghouse Plans Open Houses

The Drumore Friends Meetinghouse, 1495 Susquehannock Drive, Drumore, will host open houses from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays, June 14, July 12, and Aug. 9. There will be a free ice cream social at the July 12 event.

An exhibit by amateur historian and Drumore Friends Meetinghouse descendant Elizabeth Dixon will be on display at the open houses. Attendees will learn about the Drumore Quakers and local 19th-century life and can view an 1800s property map to see where the Quakers lived. The cemetery will be open to explore, and visitors may bring a picnic lunch and blanket for the meetinghouse lawn.

There will also be items for sale, including the book "Drumore Quakers' Precious Habitation - A 200-Year History of Drumore Friends Meetinghouse and Cemetery" by Doug Miller.
