EAHS Names Students of the Month

Elizabethtown Area High School (EAHS) has recognized Annale Nguyen and Lex Hershock as the Rotary Club Students of the Month for September. This honor celebrates students who demonstrate excellence in academics, leadership, and community involvement, highlighting their positive impact on the school and broader community.

Annale is the daughter of David and Jessica Nguyen of Elizabethtown. She serves as class president and helps plan fundraisers for events such as junior prom and the senior trip. She has also made an impact as overall chair for Mini-THON and serves as a student ambassador, Jump Start mentor, and tutor. Annale is a member of the varsity swim team; orchestra, where she plays the violin; and chorus.

Annale is a member of the National Honor Society and was selected for the College Board's National First-Generation Recognition Program. In addition, the high school faculty honored Annale's excellence in Honors U.S. History by presenting her with an underclass award in the course.

Outside of school, Annale has competed for the Elizabethtown Aquatic Club (EAC) and the Mount Joy Lions Swim Team for nine years.

Annale plans to attend a four-year college to pursue a bachelor's degree in engineering.

Lex is the son of Erica Hershock of Elizabethtown. He has served as treasurer of both the Student Council and Future Business Leaders of America and a commissioner in Link Crew. He is involved in the marching band as a section leader, concert band, jazz band, symphony orchestra, and musical pit orchestra. He is a member of the school's cross-country, soccer, track and field, and lacrosse teams. He also participates in Mini-THON, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Bible Club, and the Superintendent's Advisory Committee.

Lex is a member of the National Honor Society and has been selected multiple times for the Lancaster-Lebanon Music Educators Association County Band. He has earned numerous Academic Excellence Awards, given by the high school faculty, in subjects including Health, Computer Science, Career and Finance, Spanish, and Honors Geometry. In addition, he is a recipient of the Do the Right Thing Award.

Outside of school, Lex attended the Rotary Youth Leadership Conference and is active at Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church, where he participates in the youth group.

After graduation, Lex plans to attend a four-year college while continuing to pursue his passions for music and sports.
