Easter egg hunt set in Columbia

After a six-year hiatus, the Columbia Community Easter Egg Hunt will return. Hosted by Hope City Church, the family-friendly event will take place rain or shine on Saturday, April 19, at Glatfelter Memorial Field, 1249 Lancaster Ave., Columbia, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Families from Columbia and the surrounding communities are invited to attend.

Registration, games, attractions, food, and a silent auction will begin at 10 a.m., with the egg hunt at 1 p.m. Children will be separated into the following age groups: birth to age 2, ages 3 and 4, ages 5 and 6, ages 7 and 8, ages 9 and 10, and ages 11 and 12. More than 50,000 plastic eggs will be spread across the field for children to collect. The eggs may be exchanged for candy, and every child will receive candy. Additionally, one boy and one girl from each age group will win a new bicycle. Winners must be present to claim their prize.

In addition to the egg hunt, the event will include photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny, bounce houses and rides, food trucks, and entertainment from Cavod Performing Arts. Admission, parking, and the egg hunt are free of charge, with rides and select attractions requiring purchased tickets.
