Eicher to host Fire in the Glen

Fire in the Glen will perform on Friday, March 8, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Eicher Arts Center, 409 Cocalico St., in Ephrata Borough's Grater Park. This marks the fourth consecutive year that the Celtic music trio has performed at the center in March.

Fire in the Glen's repertoire includes renditions of Irish, Scottish, and other Celtic songs. Tom Knapp, the group's founder, sings backing vocals and plays the bodhran and fiddle. Amanda Wells is on vocals and guitar, and Rod Nevin is on vocals, Scottish smallpipe, whistles, and ukulele.

Doors will open at 6 p.m., and there is a cover charge. Brewster's Bar-B-Que and TMD's Traveling Bar will be on-site.

The Eicher House was constructed as a farmhouse more than 290 years ago. The Eicher Arts Center Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, helped save the structure from being razed in the 1980s and helped convert it into a showplace venue that is used for public entertainment and cultural events and rented out for weddings and other private gatherings.
