Elverson Parade To Feature Broadway Theme

The Elverson Parade, which will feature marching bands, floats by community groups and fire apparatus, will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 15. Participants will begin to assemble on South Pine Street at 6 p.m., and the parade will begin at 7 p.m. The parade will travel along Main Street (Route 23) through the borough and end at Yeingst Drive.

The theme of this year's parade is "On Broadway: Celebrating Our Favorite Musicals." Past themes have included "Advance to Go, Elverson! Celebrating Our Favorite Board Games" in 2024 and "The '70s" for the parade's 50th anniversary in 2023. "It always surprises me how people are into decorating with the theme," said Elverson Mayor Esther Prosser.

Scheduled to perform this year are members of the Twin Valley Middle and High School marching bands, as well as the Owen J. Roberts and Exeter High School bands.

"Johnny Barnett and his band, who play country music, will play from 6 to 7 p.m. in advance of the parade at the Elverson Supply parking lot (101 E. Main St.)," noted Prosser.

Fire trucks from local fire companies, including Twin Valley Fire Department (TVFD), will be featured, and TVFD fire police will help with traffic control throughout the event. "We will have numerous other local fire companies (in the parade) as well," Prosser noted.

Food will be available to purchase along the parade route. "Joanna Store will have their new food truck. They will be at Elverson Supply as well," Prosser said. "The Yellow Door taco stand will be located in the middle of town, near Routes 82 and 23, and a funnel cake truck will be stationed on the west end of town."

Elverson T-shirts will be for sale next to Yellow Door taco.

Route 23 will be closed to vehicular traffic during the parade, and after 6 p.m., drivers may only enter South Pine Street via Route 401. For safety reasons, all participants in the parade should wait to throw candy until they are on Main Street.
