Enjoy Breakfast with the Easter Bunny

We love our town, celebrate its roots and want you to get excited about history," said Suzanne Nace-Jones, first vice president and co-chair of the fundraising committee for Historic Wrightsville Inc. "We sincerely appreciate the support we receive from our community."

Historic Wrightsville is hoping for a great turnout when the organization hosts its first Breakfast with the Easter Bunny. The event will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 243 Hellam St., Wrightsville, on Saturday, March 16, from 8 to 11 a.m.

The menu will include pancakes, bacon, sausage, juice and coffee, as well as a variety of pastries.

"Besides breakfast, there will be a visit from the Easter Bunny, crafts and various activities for kids of all ages. And, of course, eggs!" Nace-Jones said.

The idea for the Easter Bunny breakfast came about after the board members of Historic Wrightsville brainstormed ways to reach the community.

"There are some fundraisers we do annually because they are tried and true, such as tea parties, but we are always game to try new things," Nace-Jones explained. "Because Wrightsville has many civic groups and churches who need to raise funds, we always try to keep that in mind when planning Historic Wrightsville fundraisers. We are here to support each other."

Proceeds from the Easter Bunny breakfast will go toward the promotion and preservation of historic sites, structures, artifacts and memorabilia of Wrightsville Borough and surrounding areas. Historic Wrightsville maintains a museum, located at 309 Locust St., and the Burning of the Bridge Diorama, located at 124 Hellam St. in Wrightsville.

"It is our hope and desire to promote community spirit by enriching the social, educational and cultural life of our community," Nace-Jones said. "So much time and detail is devoted to acquire, restore and maintain our artifacts that are irreplaceable."

Tickets for Breakfast with the Easter Bunny are available by calling 717-881-3921 or the Historic Wrightsville Museum at 717-252-1169. Preorders are preferred, but tickets will be available at the door as space allows.
