EPHS posts car show, meeting

The East Petersburg Historical Society (EPHS) will host an antique car show at the Daniel Wolf House, located at the northeast corner of Lemon and State streets in East Petersburg, on Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free event will showcase a variety of antique cars and trucks.

Refreshments and special EPHS mementos will be available for purchase during the event. Proceeds will support the nonprofit society.

EPHS was established in 1976 to preserve memorabilia from East Petersburg's past and to make those artifacts available for the education of community residents. The society also continues to educate the public by planning and presenting special guest speaker events and by saving and displaying a variety of unique historical relics in the Daniel Wolf House museum. The museum is open to the public during the first Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. until noon.

Special guest speakers are scheduled on the first Monday of March, April, May, June and October at 7 p.m. at the East Petersburg Community Center Building, 6051 Pine St., East Petersburg.

The next speaker event will be on Monday, May 6. The topic will be "The Alleys of East Petersburg." Speaker Samuel Maurer IV will present a 1987 videotaped presentation by former resident George Parrish, who explains and tours the alley system of East Petersburg, discovering interesting buildings and lesser-known things and areas of East Petersburg. Maurer will then show a PowerPoint to compare changes of the alleys from 1987 to the present day.
