Equine Pasture Seminar Slated

Penn State Extension will present a seminar titled "Fundamentals of Equine Pasture Management" on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 9:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. The one-day seminar will be held at the 4-H Clubs of York County, 2401 Pleasant Valley Road, Suite 101, York.

Topics covered include soil fertility, forage biology, rotational grazing, forage species identification and selection, weed management, pasture evaluation and renovation, and toxic plants. This program is recommended for anyone who currently owns a horse or horse farm, is planning to purchase a farm, or works with horse farm owners.

There is a cost to attend, with a discount available until Friday, Sept. 16. The price includes lectures, activities, materials to take home, and lunch. Advance registration is required before Wednesday, Sept. 21.
