Event to launch book focused on chronic illness

A book launch for "Invincible: Finding the Light Beyond the Darkness of Chronic Illness" will be held on Wednesday, April 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Our Town Brewery, 252 N. Prince St., Lancaster.

In "Invincible," Anne Schober, Mollie Ayers, and 26 other people share their stories of having a chronic illness. The stories explore anger, denial, and grief through acceptance, triumphs, and joys.

The idea for the book was born after Schober posted on social media about living with rheumatoid arthritis. When she returned to the post a few days later, she found that it had garnered more than 500 comments and responses.

Among those who contacted Schober was Ayers, who also has an "invisible" illness and wanted to help Schober create an inspirational book on the topic. Schober and Ayers got in touch with others who had commented on Schober's post and invited them to also share their stories in "Invincible."

Copies of the book will be available to purchase at the launch. Books will also be available for purchase at http://www.invincible2023.com starting on Thursday, April 13.
