Extension Posts Information Meeting

Penn State Extension in York County is seeking new volunteers to join the Master Watershed Steward program. A virtual information meeting will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023, at 7 p.m. The presentation will highlight volunteer requirements and showcase on-the-ground projects and educational programs stewards have done in the county.

Those who choose to join the program will complete a training in early spring and then volunteer in the community to improve the health of local streams, rivers and other natural resources. Master Watershed Stewards teach adults and children about the environment, organize stream cleanups, design demonstration rain gardens, monitor streams, work with municipal officials to plant riparian buffers, and more. The Master Watershed Steward program was launched in 2016 in York County, and it currently has over 80 trained Master Watershed Stewards.

Registration for the information meeting is required at https://extension.psu.edu/master-watershed-steward-information-session-for-york-county. For more information, contact Jodi Sulpizio, Master Watershed Steward coordinator, at 717-840-7408 or jrb143@psu.edu.
