Extension to Hold Greenhouse Growers Day

Penn State Extension will hold a "Greenhouse Growers Day" workshop on Thursday, Jan. 22, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Shady Maple Smorgasbord, 129 Toddy Drive, East Earl.

The workshop is designed for greenhouse growers and operators, perennial producers, allied trades, and educators. It will include presentations, networking opportunities, and the ability to earn pesticide applicator recertification credits.

Programs offered at the workshop will include "Best of Penn State Flower Trials," "Identifying and Managing Aphids in Greenhouse and Interior Plantscapes and Landscapes," "Root and Shoot: Winning the Greenhouse Disease Battle," "Private Applicator Updates and Review," "FloraCount: An App for Rapid Assessment of Pollinator Attractiveness to Annual and Perennial Plants," and "Water Quality for Chemistries and Plant Nutrition."

Participants can earn Pennsylvania pesticide applicator credits in each of the following categories: core, private, 06, 18, 22 and 23.

A silent auction will also be part of the event.

There is a fee, which includes lunch. Participants must register by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 19.
