Fairmount in Ephrata invites the public to an open house on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is part of the 10th annual Explore Retirement Living Day, in which 17 local retirement homes participate.

Fairmount is a retirement community made for residents who want to maintain independence without home maintenance. The rural campus provides views of the Lancaster County countryside, and the number of activities and community life offerings is designed to encourage an active lifestyle. Higher levels of care - personal care, rehab, and health care - are available on campus. At the annual open house, visitors will have an opportunity to tour a cottage and two third-floor apartments.

Tours will begin in the Wheat Ridge Apartment Gathering Room at 2100 Wheat Ridge Drive. Here, refreshments will be served and visitors will have a chance to meet the marketing team.
