Family event set in downtown Mount Joy

Spooktacular Family Fun Night in downtown Mount Joy will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27.

About 50 businesses and nonprofits are set to participate in a variety of ways. Proclamation Presbyterian Church will offer free pulled barbecue sandwiches on the front lawn of the Mount Joy Church of God, and St. Mark's United Methodist Church will have free hot dogs, games and candy. Lanco Federal Credit Union will be set up at the Chamber office with candy shoots. Mount Joy Borough will have a table at Borough Hall and will hand out candy along with community information. The Borough will also bring its remote-control Mount Joy Candy Car to the event.

The event map and full list of participating businesses and organizations is available by visiting https://mountjoychamber.com/ or searching for "Mount Joy Chamber of Commerce" on Facebook.

For safety reasons, the street closure will be larger this year, with Main Street closed from Barbara Street to New Haven Street from 4 to 8:30 p.m.

Volunteers are needed in the afternoon to help the police set up the barricades for the street closure. Helpers are also needed to direct business representatives to their setup locations. To volunteer, contact the Chamber office at ashley@mountjoychamber.com or 717-653-0773.

Local businesses and nonprofits may participate, and they do not need to be a member of the Chamber. To register a business, contact the Chamber office at the aforementioned email address or phone number.
