Family History Heydey Planned

Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society will offer a Family History Heyday, an all-virtual conference, to provide new content to amateur and experienced genealogists. The event will run from 10:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6.

The keynote speaker, Dr. Michael D. Lacopo, will present "The German Immigrant Experience in the 18th Century." Lacopo is an expert in research involving Mennonite and Pennsylvania German families.

The conference will include two other speakers. Nathan Pease, director of library services at LancasterHistory, will offer a session on the features of LancasterHistory's new archives, library, and image search engine. Kristin Wenger, professional genealogist and educator at Legacy Tree Genealogists, will reveal tips on "Finding Our Female Ancestors: Research Strategies to Discover More About Women in Family History."
