Farm Bureau to Host Field-to-Table Dinner

The Berks County Farm Bureau will host a Field-to-Table Dinner in a soybean field on Sunday, May 31, at 4 p.m. The event will take place at the Jeremy Meck Farm, 1215 Route 419, Womelsdorf.

Guests will take a wagon ride across the farm to a scenic destination, where they will dine outdoors. The five-course field-to-table meal will be prepared with locally sourced ingredients from Berks County farms and producers. Local chefs will introduce and describe each course, sharing the inspiration behind the dishes and highlighting the local ingredients used in the meal. During the meal, attendees may also enjoy live praise music. The event will conclude with dessert served at sunset.

A portion of the fee for each ticket will directly support agricultural education programs, including the Mobile Ag Lab, agriculture literacy initiatives, and the SWAG Ag Lab. The Mobile Ag Lab provides hands-on agricultural science lessons for students in kindergarten through eighth grade, helping young learners understand the science and technology involved in modern farming while teaching them where their food comes from.

The event will also provide an opportunity for guests to learn more about the work of the Berks County Farm Bureau, including its efforts to support farmers, advocate for agriculture, and expand agricultural education in the community.

Support for the event includes contributions from the Berks County Department of Agriculture and the Berks County Department of Economic Development. Student volunteers from the National FFA Organization and 4-H will also assist with serving the meal and welcoming guests.
