Father, Son Celebrate Graduations

Jeffrey Clouser of Mount Joy graduated with a Master of Arts in church music from Trinity Lutheran Seminary at Capital University on May 22. He was also the recipient of the May Schwarz Award given to "a graduating student who shows outstanding potential for and commitment to the church's music ministry."

Clouser serves as the director of music ministries at Palmyra Church of the Brethren and works as a special education paraeducator for Lancaster-Lebanon IU13. He maintains memberships in Handbell Musicians of America Area 2 and the Lancaster and Harrisburg Chapters of the AGO as well as ACDA, The Hymn Society, UCC Musicians Association, the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians and the Presbyterian Association of Musicians. As time permits, Clouser sings with the Elizabethtown College Community Choir and serves as president of the Central PA Handbell Festival.

On June 4, within two weeks of Jeffrey's graduation, his son Addison Clouser of New Cumberland graduated with honors from Cedar Cliff High School in the West Shore School District. While at Cedar Cliff, Addison, also the son of Julie Spearing of New Cumberland, played the trombone in the marching band, jazz band, and wind ensemble; sang bass in Chamber Singers; and participated in quiz/history bowl. Addison plans to attend Clarks Summit University in the fall to complete a five-year degree program leading to a Master of Divinity.
