Field of Screams presents donations

Field of Screams, a local haunted attraction, presented checks totaling $13,440 to two Ronald McDonald House Charities Chapters on Nov. 30. A total of $10,440 of the check went directly to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Pennsylvania (RMHC-CP) and $2,700 of the check went directly to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeastern PA.

Field of Screams works with a large number of charities every year and has been partnering with Ronald McDonald House Charities since 2009. Since this time, Field of Screams has donated $157,160 to Ronald McDonald House Charities Chapters.

The Ronald McDonald House was built on the idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child - not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night.

All its programs are free to families, including the Ronald McDonald House in Hershey, the Ronald McDonald Family Room and Hospitality Cart at Penn State Health Children's Hospital and the Ronald McDonald Hospitality Kiosk at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. Therefore, the charity relies on the community's generosity to keep its services free for families who need them.

Keeping a family together for one night at the Ronald McDonald House in Hershey costs approximately $100.  The Field of Screams donation will provide more than 100 family overnight stays this year.
