Lititz Gala Makes A Comeback

After the 2021 Lititz Gala was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns, Rebecca Branle, executive director of Venture Lititz, is looking forward to the 2022 Lititz Gala, which will have the same "Film Noir" theme as the previous year. The fundraiser will transform the Brownstone Manor atmosphere with decor that evokes thoughts of what Branle has called "smoky cinematic drama." "There will be an air of mystery," said Branle. "There will be vignettes set up that harken back 1940s film noir."

The Venture Lititz Film Noir Gala will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8, at Brownstone Manor, 2 W. Orange St., Lititz, from 7 to 9 p.m. The event, designed for adults age 21 and over, will include special drinks, food, live music, and dancing.

According to Branle, volunteer Roxy Glouner has been creating decorations for the evening. "Seeing what the decorating committee was able to pull off is amazing," said Branle, noting that Glouner brought her handcrafted decorations to a recent meeting. "They are unbelievable. She has done a tremendous job."

Attendees will be encouraged to dress in keeping with the era. "A trench coat (maybe)," suggested Branle. "It's certainly not required, but it adds an element of fun to the event." The theme will also be apparent in the activities, which will include photo opportunities.

The evening's menu will include a signature dish and a selection of heavy hors d'oeuvres by Lititz Springs Inn & Spa. Branle noted that volunteer Shirley Flickinger recently met with the catering team to talk about the dishes. "(Flickinger) has been working really hard on this," said Branle.

Beverages will include a special Lititz-themed cocktail created by Stoll & Wolfe Distillery and a craft beer provided by Fetish Brewing Company.

Music for the evening will feature Pocketful O' Soul, known for renditions of dance songs. Branle noted that the band will play cover tunes and there will be plenty of room for dancing. "There will be some seating and high-top tables to watch the goings-on, but we encourage people to dance and have fun," she said.
