Fire Company Plans Festival

Lisburn Community Fire Company, 1800 Main St., Lisburn, will host its 68th annual Olde-Time Festival on Wednesday to Saturday, Aug. 11 to 14.

Aug. 11 will be Ride Night from 6 to 10 p.m. with rides by AEB Amusements; wristbands may be purchased for the rides. The large pavilion will be closed, but sandwiches, pizza, ice cream and more will be available. Free entertainment will be DJ Kraig Nace, owner of Jukebox Hits.

The free entertainment will continue with the Make Mine Country band on Thursday, Aug. 12; Borderline on Friday, Aug. 13; and the country band Famous Rumors Band on Aug. 14. Every night from Thursday through Saturday, the festival will include a tractor parade of all types of antique tractors, along with bingo, a midway of rides and games, hayrides, a silent auction, a book sale, games and arts and crafts vendors. Those who place bids in the silent auction in the social hall do not need to be present to win.

Every night Thursday through Saturday, the kitchen will open at 4 p.m. The fire company will sell french fries, chicken corn and ham bean soups, funnel cakes, and barbecue chicken. In the large pavilion, guests will also find hot chicken and roast beef sandwiches with mashed potatoes, homemade pies and cakes, pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, sausages, and hamburger barbecue sandwiches. Attendees may finish off the night with a funnel cake, Hershey's ice cream, and a variety of cold drinks. This year, credit cards will be accepted in the small and large pavilions.

All proceeds of the festival will benefit the Lisburn Community Fire Company, which is a volunteer organization.

Pets should not be brought to the festival.
