Fischers Honored At Annual Meeting

Keystone Human Services (KHS) recently honored Fred and Marianne Fischer with the Edna Silberman Humanitarian Award at its 50th annual meeting of the membership on Nov. 10. Fred and Marianne have contributed their time, resources, and energy to Keystone through board and committee service.

Marianne served as KHS' first development director in the early 1980s. She then went on to co-found Open Stage of Harrisburg in 1983, working as managing director. Open Stage was established to bring higher-quality theater to the area in response to the 1982 Mayor's Task Force for the Arts for Harrisburg Report. She returned to KHS in 2003, serving as the board chair of the KHS board and then as a member of the Keystone Human Services International board until 2012.

Fred is the founder and president of Fischer Financial Services, an independent investment management firm serving clients across the United States. He has served on the board of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and is currently an emeritus member. He was a board member and treasurer of the Silence of Mary Home from 2005 to 2018. In addition, he served on the Salvation Army advisory board and currently serves on the Investment Advisory Committee for the Foundation of Enhancing Communities. Fred served on Keystone's Investment Committee since 2007 and currently serves as the committee chair.
