Food Bank Selected As Finalist

York County Food Bank has been selected as a State Farm Neighborhood Assist Top 200 Finalist and is seeking votes to help it win a $25,000 grant from State Farm to help improve its community. U.S. residents who are 18 and older with a valid email address can vote for their favorite cause at http://www.neighborhoodassist.com. Anyone voting is allowed up to 10 votes per day.

Voting began on Aug. 18 and will conclude on Friday, Aug. 27, at 11:59 p.m. On Wednesday, Sept. 29, the top 40 vote-receiving causes will be announced at the aforementioned website, and a $25,000 grant will be awarded to each of the affiliated nonprofits.

The York County Food Bank's mission is to end hunger in York County. If the organization receives the grant, it plans to take steps to increase food supply and access to healthy food for people in York County. The food bank reported that since March 2020, there has been a 400% increase in demand for its services. The food bank has been serving York County since 1982.
