The Solanco Food Bank is accepting donations of food for people in need, including items for Easter baskets.

Items needed for Easter baskets include hams, gift cards to Giant, boxes of brown sugar, bags of baby carrots, cans of green beans, bags of fresh potatoes, cans or packets of brown gravy, large cans of crushed pineapple, loaves of bread, margarine, vanilla/white cake mix, vanilla icing, bags of coconut and bags of jelly beans. Items should be brought to the food bank by Wednesday, March 24, and the baskets will be distributed on Tuesday, March 30. Those in need of an Easter meal may call the food bank at 717-786-4308.

Additionally, the food bank is in need of canned fruit in all varieties and package sizes; mixed vegetables; large and small cans of tomato sauce; canisters and boxes of oatmeal; egg noodles; pudding, applesauce and fruit cups; ramen noodles; toaster pastries; chicken flavor Rice-A-Roni; and individual-size cereal.

Items may be brought to the food bank, 355 Buck Road, Quarryville, on Mondays to Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon. Donations can be dropped off at the side of the building.
