Football Association Honors Snider

The Solanco Midget Football Association recognized Jack Snider at the football game on Oct. 21. The Solanco Midget Football Association is celebrating its 50th anniversary, as the Midget Mules was launched in August 1972 under the direction of the Quarryville Jaycees.

Snider was the acting president of the Quarryville Jaycees when the football organization was formed, and he served as the youth program's first president. In his role as president and B team coach, Snider helped to raise the first dollars to support the program. Today, Snider and his family continue to support the program with the Founders Trophy, which is awarded annually to the Solanco Midget Football Association's Outstanding Player at the conclusion of the season.

More than 6,000 football players; 3,000 cheerleaders; and countless volunteers have participated in the Midget Mules program since its inception.
