Forensic Dentist To Speak At Meeting

Grave Concern will hold a quarterly meeting with a program on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. The meeting will take place at Mennonite Life, 2215 Millstream Road, Lancaster, formerly the Lancaster County Mennonite Historical Society.

Dr. Matthew Patterson, a forensic dentist, will present "Duffy's Cut: An American Tragedy," discussing the 1832 death and murder of 57 immigrant Irish Catholic railroad workers at a camp near Malvern. He will explain procedures used to identify some of the victims by bone structure, a dental anomaly and DNA samples used to locate descendants in Ireland.

The meeting is free and open to the public. Grave Concern is an organization dedicated to the history, preservation, and restoration of historical burial places.
