Forest Hills Hires Youth Director

Forest Hills Mennonite Church, 100 Quarry Road, Leola, has hired Becky Bathurst as a part-time youth and young adult director. In this role, Bathurst will oversee and support the youth and young adult ministries in the congregation, prioritizing strong relationships with collaborative function to provide a healthy atmosphere for spiritual, personal, and emotional development of youths and leaders.

Bathurst has been a part of Forest Hills for most of her life, returning as an adult in 2017 after living away from the area for about 10 years. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in history from Alice Lloyd College in Kentucky and her teaching certification from Delaware Valley College. Between college and the present, she has spent her time as an educator in a variety of ways, including working as a tour guide in a historic prison and as a substitute teacher for several school districts. Her passion is working with young people as they learn to navigate life and figure out what it means to be an adult and a Christian in an ever-changing world. Bathurst lives in Ephrata with her husband, Rob, and their son, Ollie.
